There's a group of folks that call themselves something like "The Lunar Preservation Society" who want everything kept in pristine condition so as to glean meaningful information about early solar system history. The tug-of-war they'll be playing with colonists in the years to come is going to be interesting. And probably very short-lived. I'm all in on the colonists, if we're betting, but I'm neutral in my own feelings.
