Normally I'm not a Luddite, but this shit has got to stop. How could you ever feel free to do anything in public if anybody could take a picture of you and link it to your identity? Good Lord!

I'm torn on this one. Living in a world where anyone and everyone has this sort of profiling power sounds entirely dystopian. On the other hand, governments and businesses have been using these tools for years with increasing efficacy.

Unfortunately, average people having this power in the form of an app does little to nothing to offset the overreaches of those more powerful.

It might make fashion a little more interesting though

How so?

Doing what that person does with their hair/makeup makes facail reconigion apps VERY confused.

Ah! That's clever. Subversive makeup. I like it!

It's called dazzle makeup if you want to search for more examples and information. The concept is based on dazzle camouflage, which provided some equally interesting paint jobs for ships.

Know something cool? Dazzle camouflage is used on pre-production test cars all the time. It's so fun to see pictures of cars in dazzle camouflage and try to make out distinctive features.

That reminds me... I know it's not dazzle- but check out this rogue monster a friend snapped and sent over:

Ugly as hell... Wheels too small... And RHD to boot. Curious.

I wish I would have seen it to get a better shot and a better sense of scale.

That's so cool! It must be one hell of a treat to see these in the wild. Being RHD, I wonder what final market it's intended for. Maybe Australia?

Here's an article on the subject that you and DragonflyMind might enjoy reading.

Thank you for a whole new category of dazzle pictures to look at!

The next generation will be used to it.

Or, you know, we could just wear medical masks, which are already trendy in Asia.

The next generation will be used to it.

And that is what frightens me more than the tech.
