Which of the monuments/buildings was the most impressive? I've not spent much time in DC.
DC is awesome for the fact that pretty much every touristy thing to do is already bought and paid for with your tax dollars (or someone's, if you aren't from the US). Therefore, you don't have to spend a lot of money to have a great time, except that staying and eating aren't inexpensive (but that's no different from any other big city). To me, the best thing in DC is just wandering around the Mall and stopping where ever looks interesting. Admittedly, I'm pretty partial to the Natural History Museum and the Freer and Sakler Gallery, both of the Smithsonain Institute, and both right on the Mall.

DC is amazing. I'll be headed there in October... I think. I'l definitely be hitting up the Freer and Sakler Galleries. Thanks.
