The problem with Hawaii is it's basically a giant native reservation that the white folx have turned into their own private playground, making the homeland unaffordable for families that have been there since they killed and ate the Menehune. It's not that they don't give a shit about the culture and it's not that they don't give a shit about the mountain, it's that fuckin' white boy go home and the TMT was a touchstone.
