My guide to all things Seattle and my driver said, "Ray's is nice, good happy hour, nice view. Out of the way (Ballard)"

"Maggie Bluffs: I have never been, but they certainly have a nice view of downtown, on the water, more centrally located. I'll opt for a place that is new to me, ie. Maggie Bluffs. Walk on the wild side."

He sounds very hubski to me (walk on the wild side). So let's go for Maggie Bluffs and kb can totally veto me if he wants.

Do they take reservations?

Maggie bluffs neither takes nor needs reservations. It's basically a hole-in-the-wall diner that happens to be under Palisade. Basically, if you own a yacht, you eat at Palisade. If you like to look at yachts, you eat at Maggie Bluffs.

If you're clever, you buy dinner at Maggie Bluffs then drinks and dessert at Palisade. That's a dating trick I've been pulling since the late '90s.

ALTERNATIVE SUGGESTION: What used to be Jillian's and then became something else is now Art Marble 21.

I have not been there. It's got pool tables, booze, beer and food.

VETO AWAY dude. I'll be happy. Even Ray can get back on the table. So to speak.

It will be night anyway and a view of the BIG DARK SEA with twinkling of yachts is -- meh at best. Although Seattle darkness might have a unique northwest quality.

NOTE: If we make this happen, it will be my fifth hubski meetup, each one in a different city (Vancouver, Detroit, LA, Toronto, Seattle) (although I admit the Vancouver/Surrey meetup was just forwardslash and me, but still, eh?

Also, I have a something planned for this meetup related to mk and thenewgreen. Only _refugee_ knows so far and she is keeping it her own witchy secret. Right ref?
