The Daily Show had a bit about Cruz making and posting videos for his PAC that were strange and rife for parody but I honestly don't know if this is real or the result of that segment.

As long as I'm here, Ted Cruz is Canadian. Look it up and remember the birthers

If you don't want to look it up, here's the link:

I was born in Canada by a 100% American father and WW2 vet in Canada on a GI bill that gave him a university education and a car. (Historic note: Automatic transmission cars were invented long before WW2, but not sold commercially until after WW2 and vets were coming back without both feet.)

Technically, like Cruz, I could have been American - until Jimmy Carter said I couldn't. Damn him. Now I have to marry an American. Oh wait I did that too.

OMG - I just checked here and it looks like I can be a US citizen:

Applicant (moi) born between Jan 13, 1941 and Dec 24, 1952 and US citizen parent resided in the U.S. ten years prior to the applicant's birth, with five of those years occurring after the parent turned 16.

I will have to look into this, but would it mean more work for me or less? someguyfromcanada

Planning to run for President?

ha ha.

omfg no. At least not today.

I'm not that crazy about debating, making decisions for everyone else on the planet, or holding opinions.

That's the interesting thing about Birthers, though. Even if they were correct, it wouldn't disqualify Obama from being president. The courts have basically said that a "natural born citizen" means someone who is a citizen from birth, and is independent of where the person was born. In addition to Cruz, George Romney (Mexico) and John McCain (Panama) are examples of major party candidates who were not born in the US. That calls into question the who reason why Obama (or his parents or grandparents) would have faked a birth. It's unnecessary.

Because they knew he was the antichrist who would become the first black president and destroy the nation using health insurance

Yeah, this.

I used to only really know anything about Trump. Then I read the "Trump vs. Cruz" thread here on Hubski and now I'm scared shitless.

Edit: Of course I previously knew Cruz is a senator (from TX, my state, nonetheless), so I wrote him off as a dumbass and that was about the extent of my research. Never seen video of him speaking before now. Crafty little bugger, isn't he?

Edit 2: It's really weird that Cruz & co. wouldn't have the discretion to shell out the money for maybe 20 man-hours of editing necessary to not have graced us with this incredible collection of candidness. Honestly though, if you want Hollywood quality, candidness goes out the window. And that may be why the Presidency shouldn't be a reality show, although Ted Cruz is showing us how he just might ride a reality-show style campaign into the white house. With some clever (double?) ironies.
