I went to highschool at one of the schools mentioned in the first article. It only took a quick glance to know which ones they're talking about-I don't feel quite inclined to read the article at the moment. It's weird to see those struggles written into the national spotlight. Maybe someday I'll bring myself to write my experiences. Palo alto is quite a unique little bubble.
As a highschool student in a very Palo Alto-y area on the East Coast, I'd love to hear your thoughts. If they're difficult to write, record your thoughts and post 'em! I can't find the link now but a while ago I talked at length about my thoughts on death around the time my grandpa died, and it was well-received on the 'Ski as always.
Ah I have no doubt that if any, this would be the place to share. Just need to take the time to think back to those times. It shouldn't really be that hard, I've talked through it many times before. Life is hectic as usual, I'll see if I can get to it this week
Sorry for the off-topic comment, but is there interest from people other than myself in getting the full post content in RSS entries? #thesundaypaper is a great part of my syndicated feeds, but I wish I could read the full post in my feed reader rather than having to click through to hubski. I'm not sure if having it the current way is a conscious design to pull readers to hubski, or if it's just how it happened to be set up. (cc: mk)
