I was informed that user #151837381 had viewed my profile. I clicked the number and only found out that he was 73 -- too old for me. I didn't want to look after an old man. I wasn't interested. He hadn't posted a picture or any other information yet, but I didn't care.
The next day I had a Skype text message from my soon-to-be-ex-husband. The one who told me he "needed space" on July 5, and by July 30, told me he was "done." He was "head-over-heels" in love with a woman who worked for him. He was sure she loved him back. He was happier than he'd ever been.
"Turkey's are done, my dear. People are finished." -- I failed to say to him at the time.
The Skype text said, "I see you checked me out on ...name of dating website.

You can also add 'spanish' as a keyboard, and use what's usually the 'm' key. Plus it spellchecks your español, which is pretty nifty if you mix up B and V or forget accents :)

I recall the earliest IBM clone keyboards had a number pad on the right, separate from the keyboard. Is that what you speak of? I tried it with my number row and my alt key .... I got zero, ziltch, nada.

Dan Ariely did some research on online dating and was able to prove succinctly that speed dating is a lot more effective at finding compatible people... and even more so, a social activity in which you must interact over a shared experience. The shared activity is actually a really strong indicator - the tests they ran basically had two people connected via text chat observing abstract shapes in speed dating rounds with no other information. If both partners of the conversation wanted to meet the other, they were introduced. Amazingly enough, this form of dating produced the most short-term dating prospects and the most longer-term relationships. FUN FACT: Both eHarmony and Match.com use Meyers-Briggs, but eHarmony goes for similarity while Match goes for opposites. Kinda shows that the whole algorithmic thing is kind of the wrong approach.
