I WANT TO OWN ANY RECORD FROM J DILLA'S COLLECTION!!!!

Had no idea that they were selling those things, but now that I know I'm gonna see if I can buy one.

It's an interesting article in that they it deals with two extremely influential people in the music world who are so very different.

Out of the piles of music I own, J Dilla still gets played at least once a week. More important then his old vinyl is what gets done with the piles of Dilla beats that are said to exist which have never been released. I bought "Donut Shop" when it came out, worried that it would be a bunch of sub par stuff issued only to make a dime of the corpse, but was pleasantly surprised to find it had some great stuff on it, hope they issue more of his work.

J Dilla definitely changed my life. If I hadn't bought "Donuts" I would have never listened to modern hip hop. He is one of my all time favorites. If you have never listened to him try "Donuts" out and realize that he made that album as he was dying, actually finishing it on his death bed, turntable and laptop at his side. I really can't decide on any one example of Dilla to post, he did to much, any one piece doesn't really get at why he was great.I'll just let him say goodbye, he left too soon. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Cd6effcXnE

Peel did more for rock and roll then probably any man alive. Nurturing new talent and turning fans on to whole worlds of unknown wonder. The guy was so open to new sounds, Jimi Hendrix may have been a great guitar player, but he only brought Jimi to the world, Peel brought it all. A goodbye to Peel from an admirer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dn_ffXVVjzY
