I've been working on a shoe rack as part of my ongoing foray into woodworking Super basic, but it's coming along nicely and looks pretty nice actually. Research still sucks right now, but I'm transitioning into the phase of not really caring. It's too emotionally exhausting to put so much effort and time into something that gets ignored by people because of petty academic politics.

God but that's the truth. And half the problem is they can't measure things. Luckily if you call them out on it usually they'll just keep retrying until you're happy-ish, at no extra cost. But if you bought the only piece of x by x wood in the entire store, you're fucked. There's no way they cut it right in one try.
