That'd be the English Channel :) The bay extends a bit further round and is actually part of an even bigger bay.

Gosh! I've been crossing that more or less weekly for the past year! I'd not noticed how beautiful it is. Do you sail? I'm rather tempted to take a dinghy out there...

Sailing can be a lot of fun and if you look for a local group it's very likely there's already some club or school you can join up with. I never sailed on the sea, sticking to rivers instead, and it has been a very long time :)
