Ehh, it's probably that I didn't express myself well.

My point is that if arguments around free speech or keeping an open mind start to be in and of themselves justifications for certain views to be expressed on a platform, that platform then has to accept literally EVERYTHING that isn't active harassment, because everyone can whine equally about how other people aren't being open minded when they are told how toxic their views are.

As such, I think it's important to be ruthlessly opposed to such arguments, because they're the quickest way for a community or platform to lose all control over content.

Thanks for the clarification! I now see that I agree with you for the most part.

It's definitely an awkward situation for Hubski as a platform. I mean, at the end of the day, Hubski should be able to do as it likes. It's hosting the content, and if the powers that be don't like certain things they should be able to remove them. That's life. I think we're on the same page this far anyway.

Hubski-ers interacting with other Hubski-ers is a really difficult situation and I guess it really depends on the user. One thing I really don't agree with though is outright name calling. I've seen it happen a handful of times here where people jump straight to accusations without even addressing the actual idea, or even trying to back up their accusation. I mean, there's a big difference between "you're racist because x", and just "you're racist".

I don't know if I articulated myself very well, but I guess the TL;DR is: don't hate, discuss.
