It'll be interesting to see how the 'platforms' for these articles will react and change as more and more people start automatically publishing to them. Some platforms already restrict publishing so you can't use an API call of some sort which forces users to actually use their app (I'm looking at you instagram). Also, I remember Digg started including some features to allow publishers to automatically post content and gave them prime real estate on the front page; the community didn't react to well to that.
