It's the 20th anniversary of Larry Clark's "Kids".
This film had a huge impact on me when I first saw it, although this was mainly negative: I was 11 or 12. I didn't find the film shocking, I found it thrilling. I wanted to emulate the characters. To a certain extent, for a couple of years, I did (mostly in speech patterns, drug habits and dress sense, not - fortunately - in HIV-acquisition)
It had a positive effect too, though - I followed Harmony Korine's career pretty closely after that, which in turn introduced me to Dogme 95, which in turn allowed me to make my first movies.
I wonder if anyone else has strong feelings about this film?
