I had a developmental psychology class in college where we watched parts of the British films and parts of the American films. It was a very interesting experience and caused me to reflect on my own past and speculate about what happened to all the people I used to know. I just watched the film Boyhood and kept wanting to view it as a documentary, I assumed this was just because it was filmed over such a long period of time with he same actors. However, It probably unconsciously reminded me of the Up series now that I think about it.

I've been wanting to see Boyhood too. There were a number of times when I tried to go see it but work or life kept getting in the way. Unfortunately, its no longer in theaters. Is it available to rent now?
