Iranian here. I'd like to point out something: Even though this is a law set by the government and its the regime's policy, we have to take in mind that its also support by some segments of the population. This isn't a clear cut case where everyone is unanimously against this absurd law. There are many religious people who are supportive of it. I felt like this needed to be reflected.
