I was expecting them to stay private until the admins made a statement explaining their actions... but most returned to normal under 24 hours later. And you have to admit, the highlight of the controversy are problems that don't directly affect most redditors. Victoria was a beloved figure in the community, but her absence won't have an impact outside the realm of AMAs. The mods have been treated the same way for years-- the majority of users won't understand their issues, or even care, considering their experience on Reddit hasn't actually changed. Drama like this seems to burn out pretty quickly.
