The very idea of "karma" and "clout" of our beloved Hubski is based upon the incentives and rewards paradigm, is it not? People can't possibly share good content willingly. Perhaps I'm being too harsh. I don't know.

I think it's difficult to distinguish, but there is a difference, between incentive/reward and feedback. It feels good to be a positive influence, but only if you know that your influence has been positive. Imagine if every time you held a door open you had no idea whether anyone walked through it....

True enough. Part of it is to help people see what is appreciated, but part of it is good old incentive. But, you needn't consider yourself harsh. I buy into it as much as anyone else. :)

That said, the karma pales in comparison to the serendipity and enjoyment of discussing anything with anyone. I've got Tim Maia playing in a tab!
