This is so cool! Computational biology is really growing. I'm currently working with a computer program that is used to restore a "functionally extinct" tree species. We can use this program we created to simulate and create entire tree populations and then harvest seed from them!

I'm not a scientist, so if you don't mind bearing with me, I'd like to understand this better. So, what you are are doing is taking what otherwise would be an extinct species of tree and then you are able to use a computer program to do what exactly? How are you able to harvest seeds from a computer program?

I apologize if this is a silly question, but I'm genuinely interested in the answer. Thanks
