oh i love this, reminds of Picasso's painting, a bit cubism. I like the touch of yellow to the blue. Personally, I think the work is stronger than the Masculine complement in terms of the color, the composition, human expression, and capturing essence of the form.

I have to agree with you guys - this is my favorite you've posted so far alpha0. It's abundantly clear that you have a strong sense of proportion. I see a bit of a fractal / spiral thing here too, just like in your recent, more Mondrian, post. I love the long soft curve of her neckline - like it's being cajoled by the orthogonal background, but she's resisting slightly. To me her eyes are showing that tension too. Regardless of this, she holds her own embrace and proudly presents to us.

I feel like these two paintings say more about the mental state of man/woman more than they do form? This one is so much more peaceful. The masculine painting is much more disturbed.
aside: someone just opened the door to the place where I am and I just smelled summer for the first time this year. Wonderful! I'm now going outside!!! What a great compliment to the beautiful painting.

Yes, but not male/female. masculine/feminine. Btw, she has hard, determined eyes (did you notice?) Poor Osiris looks bewildered having been cut to so many little pieces ... I actually hope Summer waits its turn. My favorite smell is Spring's and we haven't had a proper Spring here (in NYC) for a few years now. I really miss having regular seasons.

Masculine/feminine... absolutely. A noteworthy clarification. You're right on the money with the description of the eyes.
As for spring, it has felt like spring to me for several weeks now here in the south. I'm not used to much spring either, coming from Michigan. I love it here though, it's lovely.

Hopefully NYC feels like spring next week, I'll be there for work Tue-Fri. Are people still at Zuccotti Park for OWS?
