sigh.

I just... I don't have faith in our justice system or our country or in the ability for change. More than depressing these days, I just find it so tiring. I'm so tired. I'm tired in my bones. I'm so numb to it at this point. It's by far the worst system in the world, no politician has any desire to change it, most are being paid to make it worse, and the people don't have the power or the will to do anything.

Sadly, the attitude many people take is that it is a "vengeance" system, not a justice system, and they like it that way.

America has more people in jail than any other country on Earth. By at least double. Not per capita, total. The people in the correctional system become stuck in a cycle of it built by the system. We have a private prison complex. We have programs that fast track juveniles into the prison industrial complex.

No, the quality of our prisons is not the worst, but we have the worst correctional system in the world.

I disagree. But neither of us has been to North Korea (or China, or Sudan) recently.
