will those of us that didn't evolve to such conditions be left standing?

What do you mean? I'm not sure I understand..

    our very nature

Careful! Human nature is notoriously competitive and cooperative. And, I believe, the foundations of capitalism have massively distorted what many perceive to be "human nature" today. If we have a nature I think it is a flexible and dynamic nature, which is why anthropologists emphasize the adaptability of the human mind instead of the adaptedness of the human mind.

    might create pushback.

The fight is between centralised hierarchical symbolic fictions versus distributed heterarchical symbolic fictions. I think the internet enables the flourishing of the latter. Essentially this suggests to me that our long-term future organisational structure is the same as our pre-historical organisational structure (egalitarian anarchy) (i.e. any authority/hierarchy that cannot reasonably justify its existence will not be permitted). In some sense hubski is an egalitarian anarchic entity.
