America can't forget something it never learned about to begin with. The postcards and photographs only go to prove that capitalism can turn anything into a means of production ... even human suffering.

Do you have a source for that statistic? I found this, which would put it at about 52 per year:

    on the average, a black man, woman, or child was murdered nearly once a week, every week, between 1882 and 1930 by a hate-driven white mob
