This was an awesome, somewhat lengthy article. Full of interesting stuff. I especially liked this quote:

"Unfettered anonymity, where it leads to bullying and harassment, can also undermine free expression, since it prevents others from taking part in public debate and expressing their own views."

I just really like the way this was articulated. Almost like saying that anonymity needs to be regulated at some point or people have a habit to generally go overboard and turn bad towards the rest of humanity, like gluttony for the ability to put others down without them actually knowing who you are.

"Oscar Wilde once wrote that if you give a man a mask, he’ll tell you the truth. True, but he’s more likely to be mean and nasty while he’s at it. We just have to live with that."

As someone who likes a lot of Oscar Wilde, this quote made me laugh at the end and i was curious to others' thoughts on this quote. Well, about the addition of the mean and nasty part.

I tend to lean towards hoping that people are better than just being mean, greedy, or nasty because they can be, but then I remember my life experience and realize that this quote is probably, more often then not, correct. People have a tendency to be selfish and greedy and at somepoint we lost where we taught kids that these were bad personality traits. It seems, these days, that we almost encourage them.
