Sure, a couple of the killings may be due to racism
But I feel that this is like ADHD
"Over diagnosed"
Every time a white person kills a african american, its automatically racist...
That's not my impression. What I see is that there is a growing awareness that in many cases it is, that the statistics bear this out to be true, -that this is much more than 'a couple'. I haven't seen people saying that every black death at the hands of police is due to racism. Why do you feel this way? Is it because of the intense media focus upon these recent cases, where it seems that unarmed black men were unnecessarily killed by police? BTW, I suspect that your sentiment will likely make people doubt that you are actually a person of color. Do you realize that? What are your thoughts on that?
There are certainly layers to all of these situations - and that's just it - each one is unique. Sure, we can see patterns, but correlation isn't causation. I think the current level of public discomfort comes from a few factors, including cell phone video, increased media coverage, and general discontent. There's a a lot going on. People are upset. This particular thread has a lot of momentum right now. and before anyone gets on my case - I'm not trying to explain away police brutality or racism - I'm agreeing with the OP that not EVERY person of color arrested/injured/killed by a police officer is a race issue.
