I spend many minutes on plus every day on my phone. The android app is better than any mobile interface for Facebook or Twitter. I just use it to follow the interesting people I find online. I could care less if millions of normal people aren't clogging it up like facebook.
I don't need a replacement for facebook, because I hate facebook. Google+ does everything I want perfectly.

More or less. I think the stream is a good way of presenting stories, like this:
http://i.imgur.com/5ocCv.png Clicking on an item brings up comments, and lets you add your own, like this: http://i.imgur.com/mhAfy.png It doesn't have the power of threaded comments, but neither do FB or twitter. It is, however, easy to use and pleasant looking.
