We had a Hubski pen pal thing going on for a while. check it out
I like the idea. Your home page copy needs some work. It's grammatically incorrect, repeats itself, and is too long. It should sum it all up in a single paragraph (or less) and be followed immediately by a feed of member activity (or profiles from the 'find penpals' page), otherwise people can't grasp the utility of the site at a glance.
