In Lake Superior there is a small group of islands called the Huron Islands. It has a lighthouse that is now unmanned. http://www.lighthousefriends.com/light.asp?ID=729 It feels like you are in the game Myst when you are there. You can also dive off the cliffs into the lake. Once when visiting, we happened upon an older guy that grew up on the islands. His father was the lighthouse keeper. It is a magical place.
