So apparently the NSA intends to monitor the off-work activity of NSA staffers to prevent NSA leaks. And to no one's surprise, NSA staffers aren't interested in being spied on like ordinary citizens.
I get that it is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends upon his not understanding it (Sinclair), but this just seems to ironic for someone to deliver with a straight face.Officials are even running a pilot to monitor what those with clearances post on public social media and message boards, but they think that may be a step too far in terms of scale and intrusion on privacy.
What'll be awesome is trying to get sympathy. Now I get it - not everyone who works at the NSA was spying on the Facebook activity of private citizens suspected of zero wrong-doing. BUT they do work for an organization that systematically spies on the Facebook activity of private citizens suspected of zero wrong-doing. If you're one of the "good guys" the time to start looking for a better job was "several years ago."
Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? Quis custodiet ipsos custodes custodes? It's turtles all the way down, as they say.
Expected this article to be about NSA monitoring to make sure that NSA powers weren't abused. Either way absurd, but wow, what a downer.
