To be honest, I kinda like the NYTimes, the quality of the articles on there that I've enjoyed is an order of magnitude above other new sources. Lots of modern day reporting should die, but they would at least pass my quality threshold.

Edit: Also, the article isn't really predicting it to die, just that its current model is be unsustainable and it needs changes to its pricing model.

I kicked the habit and so can you! Getting the Sunday times and heading out for brunch was a must for me up until 2002.

The New York Times is a corporation masquerading as an "institution". Ditto for the lesser evil of The New Yorker and the appropriately named Con The Nasty parent corporation. These are the organs of propaganda that frame and limit debate among the "educated" set. They are undemocratic, unaccountable, yet enjoy privileged nay 'sacrosanct' station in our society. They clearly lack the corporate will to be honest guardians of "what is fit to print" in our society.

So, I reiterate: good riddance.
