Some pretty alarmist statements about this stuff. Really.
"What Can I do with my model aircraft?"
It basically boils down to "don't try to make money off of it without a license" which is essentially a paparrazzi law. People forget: You can't legally operate those Radio Shack walkie talkies without a license, either, but everybody does. This basically gives the FAA teeth to come down on you if you cause a catastrophe with your toy plane. they're not banning sales, they're not banning operation (unless it's over 55 lb and not certified by a "hobbyist organization" - ever seen a 55lb model airplane? they're impressive) they aren't even banning operations within airports - they're saying "notify the tower."
Anybody who saw the proliferation of gopros and Parrot ARs saw this coming a mile away. The only structural difference between yesterday and today is they can now officially accuse you of violating the law if they think you've violated their 2012 ordinance.
