The strangest food I've eaten are bees while I was in scenic Lijiang, Yunan. They were deep fried and did not have any real taste to it. We gently dipped them in red chili powder to give in a little kick, But without the chili powder, it was very bland.
As far as disgusting goes, I would have to say worms while I was in Guangdong, China.

I love the taste, but don't care for the smell too much.

It definitely smells worse than it tastes. I like the texture myself. Not to mention the shape of the fruit is already intriguing.

I've had rattlesnake. That meat isn't worth the kill. Imagine the worst ribs you've ever had.
Just recently had horse shashimi. Really really lean. Was so cold and fresh that there really wasn't much flavor.

Deep fried and stirred fried snake with jalapeno pepper and salt... delicious.
Maybe fried silkworm cocoons. They were actually quite tasty. But oddly, there was a very very hard black thing in the middle that you had to spit out. It was like a rock, but it kind of looked like a mix between a beetle and a grub.
Goose head was also a bit odd. You basically bite their cheeks off. There's not much else there to eat.

I enjoy them from time to time. My 2 1/2 year old loves them. It must've been from the wife.

It is live when you order it. They would cut it open and wash the gonads with salted water and serve it to you in the shell. Often times, the spines would still be moving. It doesn't sound very appetizing, but it is absolutely marvelous if you can get over the strange texture.

Well you only eat the gonads. The shell and spine is only for looks.

Me too man....a lot! Why don't we organize a reunion? We should do that next year (this year is Austin). Let's discuss in Vegas.

I've actually tried calf testicles in soup before. Strangely, I didn't find it all that disgusting.
I don't consider it strange or disgusting, but some people do:
