That I can agree with. Startups seem to be all about connecting and sharing information, but rarely are based on the creation of new content, outside of low effort user content like pics and tweets.

Silicon Valley seems like a giant frat house to me. Everyone knows everyone, it's super exclusive and you have to pay to get in. There are so many great thinkers and tinkerers out there in the world that it seems ridiculous to say, you must live/work here or your startup's have no merit. WTF?
I was reading the "about" section of pandodaily (where this was sourced from) and they claim that part of their platform is to include startups from all over the world to report on. I hope they do, I think the whole Silicon Valley let's all write about each other thing is tired.
