What's your role in the band? Good luck booking shows, from what I've heard I don't think you'll have any problems, though 80% of booking shows is "who you know."
I write and sing and strum rhythm guitar. These songs have been comin down the pipe for a while but they're fresh to the world. I have many more to record. But what i'm really exited about is the show. We can really groove live. Get people dancin. We just gotta sink our teeth in 'em. But it's like i've been preparing for this all my life. It's time to go! I didn't want to concern myself with the business aspect of this, the schmoozing and the bs but if that's what it takes I'll do it.
From one singer/songwriter to another, I'm impressed with what I've heard. Great work!! I know how exciting it is to begin playing live and sharing the songs and art that you've spent so much time nurturing. So cool! As for the business aspect, never compromise your authentic self. In order to get shows you don't have to be "shmoozy" you just need to make a few calls. Chances are you know other bands that can get shows, open up for them. When you open up enough times and it's evident to the club/bar owners that you can draw, you'll get to pick your own lineups and then it gets really fun. Being able to put together a bill is a lot of fun. Keep posting your stuff here and feel free to shout-out to me, I'm excited to hear more. Cheers!
Schmoozy is just such a great word. I felt inspired to share last night, thank you for fostering a welcome environmemt. I'll post more. I must say I've tried to listen to some links you've posted but my only computer is this nex 5 and it won't load/play (java or some plugin or something?).
