I have always loved this song. Dolly Parton's emotion comes through very well when it's played at normal speed, but slowed down it really accentuates the sorrow in her voice. The Little Willies actually do a cover of this song that is also much more mellow. It's probably my favorite version outside of the original and worth checking out.

I only wish the YT post had used the line input from the camera or not bothered with the video. It detracts from the deeply haunting qualities of the song at this speed.
For me, witnessing the artifact doesn't detract from the feeling. It only reminds us that the record and player is the essential conduit to manifest this contingent sound - obvious as it may be. I also find that staring at a spinning record is meditative to what it emits.
