Happy New Year mk! It's been a wild ride thus far and I'm excited for 2014. We have a great team in b_b, insomniasexx and forwardslash. -They all pass the fishing boat test. It's just after midnight here in NC and I'm having a whiskey and raising the glass to you three and to all of the people on Hubski that make me come back day in and day out to see what's shaking. We've got a great crew going on the site right now and like you, I consider many of them friends. A shout out to sounds_sound for all of his help in 2013 as well. I know that I shout-out too much and I promise that in 2014 I'll do less of it, but I want to take a moment and say what I'm excited for in 2014: In 2014 I'm looking forward to making more podcasts/videos with steve and making more collaborative music with ecib, T-Dog, jonaswildman, mrjasonetaylor, fuffle and bgood79. More writing prompts from lil, participating in more photo challenges with elizabeth and Aksalon, more Geography photo challenges/essays from NotPhil -those are seriously cool and hopefully some more microwave recipes from him too. I look forward to more thought provoking commentary from kleinbl00 and some more photo-essays -the area 51 one still stands out as a favorite. I look forward to some more progressive poems from coffeesp00ns, more videos from theadvancedapes, more poetry from humanodon, mike and _refugee_, more evox's from cW, more essay's from ecib, more weekly music threads from bfv, more baseball from flagamuffin, more writing from louderwords, more Taibbi from his fan-boy scrimetime, more beekeeping updates from briandmyers, more stories of vigilantly justice and definitely more music posts from cgod, more travel updates from veen, I hope to hang once more with Meriadoc -and by the way I finished Blood Meridian and we never discussed it :) I look forward to hearing more from ButterflyEffect about how his label is doing, from minimum_wage about all things anarchy, from delta about programming and philosophy etc, I want to hear more music from AshShields, rezzeJ, BLOB_CASTLE and countless others... I could go on and on. Our little community here is full of extremely interesting, creative and active people. I hope to meet more of you in person in 2014. It really has been a blast thus far. One last shout-out: It's unbelievable how much time and effort mk puts in to Hubski and he does so very quietly. I've never met someone with more integrity, I assure you that Hubski is in good hands. Happy New year to all of you. Thenewgreen, it's 12:51 and I think you've been typing that since 12:01. Please tell me you aren't on a smartphone ;) Just finished watching a collage of NYC ball drops since 1976. Sorta wishing I could go back in time where at least the crowds in Time Square weren't covered in advertising. Such is life. Seeing all the "in-camera" crowd wearing ridiculous blue foam Nivea branded top hats was a bit much for me. Who could have guessed just how pervasive advertising had gotten in what feels like such a short time. Hope everyone is heading into 2014 with the wind at their back.
That's the way a year should start. Champagne goes nicely with cheese and lasagna so you should be good to go pal! Wish I could help you drink it, I really do. I'm about to have a sip of Redemption Rye (no ice) in your honor sir. Cheers!
Hmmm, I'm not sure that I agree with your hypothesis, but I'm glad you're feeling well. I've enjoyed good champagne that others have purchased and have been worse for the wear the next day.

I'm gonna support flag by saying that you too make hubski what it is. Sometimes I think half of the posts here are yours. I can only look forward in delight to a full year of hubski instead of just the 135 days I've been here (sidenote: what the hell, only 3 months?). Keep up the good work, let's make the next year even better than the last!

Cheers! And the bookclub is on it's way tomorrow! Being with family ended up taking more time than I thought it would and I ended up spending that day with my uncle out at the shooting range, so I figured another week couldn't hurt, especially if anyone ended up as busy as I did.
I enjoyed the book but I don't think I'll be rushing to read any more McCarthy any time soon. Glad you were able to hang with family and shoot.
