There used to be a great deal more outrage in the black community over the space program.

Whitey on the moon - gil scott-heron would be the definitive musical protest against the NASA program from a black artist. Even more mainstream black artist spoke against the program, take Marvin Gay's mention at the beggining of Inner City Blues.

If you ever often went to bed hungry, watched a relative die from lack of medical care or lived in a ghetto the space program can pretty much go to hell.

Thanks for sharing Whitey on the moon. I hadn't seen that before.

You should check out some of his other music, he was a fantastic artist.

His impact on Hip-Hop was immense but his own work often overlooked.

He should have revived a Kennedy Center Award with the banquet and all that stuff but instead he got a few year in jail for possession of a bit of cocaine.

He is probably one of my ten favorite musicians of all time.
