Very poorly executed. They should have at least incorporated an existing life expectancy table. http://www.census.gov/compendia/statab/2012/tables/12s0107.p... An 85 year-old white male should still see 5.7 years on the clock. Use some simple linear interpolation - it's not like you don't have a computer to make a clock that's a bit more accurate.
