- War and occupation directly and indirectly claimed the lives of about a half-million Iraqis from 2003 to 2011, according to a groundbreaking survey of 1,960 Iraqi households. The violence peaked in 2006 and 2007, say public health experts who were part of the study.
I gotta hit the hay, but I watched the first few minutes of your link. Isn't what he is confessing to paramount to murder or war crimes? Was he prosecuted?
It would seem as though the confessions are that of a war criminal, but I cannot find any arrest record or story of a military trial against him. Just this one video. The more I read about the organization who produced the vide, I feel it smacks of propaganda.
Ah, that makes sense. While I have little doubt that such things occur, I find it difficult to believe that someone would admit to them in a forum like that without consequence. While I have no problem with a soldier stating either their affection or disdain for US military practices (they've certainly earned that right), I will always have a problem with someone admitting to murdering people. This must not be real or else he'd be imprisoned. If not, then he ought to be.
