Together, the findings suggest that facilitated detection of invisible objects due to language occurs at a perceptual rather than semantic locus. We hypothesize that when information associated with verbal labels matches stimulus-driven activity, language can provide a boost to perception, propelling an otherwise invisible image into awareness.

This seems like a bit of a leap. Since the "invisible" object is being hidden by continuous flash suppression, couldn't the findings also be explained by focusing attention on something that has been perceived but isn't noticed unless the subject knows what they're looking for?

I know very little about this, so I'd appreciate input from anyone who knows what they're talking about!

To be honest, that was the primary motivation for this post. I have some knowledge of linguistics, but not enough to know where to look to get answers to the questions I have about this. I do rather like the idea of what this is saying though.
