I can't agree with you more: Living in Germany where a ridiculous amount of videos on youtube are blocked due to GEMA, those unblockers are really helpful. Also they help me to watch Netflix from Europe, which is awesome too!

For Firefox I have a variety too:

* Screengrab!, which is super awesome to make screenshots of websites

* FireBug and Web Developer for Web Developing, which I really like on Firefox

* FoxyProxy which helps to use TOR with the regular FireFox

And of course the obligatory Reddit Enhancement Suite mention, if you surf reddit!

I did not know about Germany's GEMA issue, that sounds horrendous.

Yep, the article sums it up pretty well. What really astounded me was the fact, that Germany is first place with 61.5% and the second place following is South Sudan with 15.3%. If you think about those numbers, your mind is blown.

Well I'm not expert on the topic, but what I assume is the main reason nothing is happening, is listed here.

The money goes right back to the state with which various things are paid for.
