The astronauts aboard the ISS live by GMT, and generally sleep at the same time despite orbiting through daylight many times a day. So even though it might be daylight outside, this is the night time that the astronauts set themselves. It's also why you'll rarely see photos of this lighting, because the astronauts are usually asleep at this time.
