printGiant escalators help poor in Medellin, Colombia
by b_b
Medellin also is reputed to have really nice public transport throughout the city, including in the slums. This is exactly why people don't hate drug cartels, even though we tell them they have to. What should the average Colombian think when the US is constantly trying to kill the very people who build infrastructure for them? It ain't Juan Valdez and his flavor crystals who are paying for all of this. Drug policy sucks. So many more poor people could benefit if rich people in the US were just allowed to buy as much coke as their hearts desire.
