In a suite at a five-star Hong Kong hotel on Friday morning, a row of 64 pink, blue and red diamonds lay on display, each encased in individual boxes. Eyed closely by several security guards, the gems belonged to Australian mining company Rio Tinto, which is hoping they will sell for more than $1 million per carat.
