The right to remain silent still stands, and when you remain silent your silence cannot be used against you. However, if you start talking you give up that right until you invoke your 5th amendment right. I'm reading the opinion now, but what I understand so far is that once you start talking, your silence to any specific question can be used against you unless you invoke your 5th amendment right to the specific question. Someone please correct me if Im wrong.
