mk: I think that 450 ppm is a pretty shaky number. It's possible that we've already got enough momentum to carry us past the point of no return. There are factors such as desertification, permafrost melt (methane release), and loss of arctic ice that at at play too. Despite the CO2 levels, we might have already reached temperatures of no return. The increase in temperature itself might be enough to carry us to a much warmer world. CO2 isn't the only contributing factor.
