The vaccine is very effective against Influenza B. It is fairly effective for type A, except for the most elderly. And for young children, the overall vaccine effectiveness of 64% (with little or no risk from the vaccination itself) is simply the best thing around to prevent a child from ending up in a hospital, or dying. I cannot see a logical argument that uses this CDC data to convince anyone to stop getting the current flu vaccine. But I’m sure someone will try.
