Our most brutal winter of recent vintage wasn't 2011, the year of the "Snowpocalypse" that stranded dozens of motorists on Lake Shore Drive, but was indeed 2009 - as referenced in the piece - a winter during which I and many people I knew basically lost their minds for a short while.
