Ethanol is so stupid, and it's subsidies even worse. It's nothing but a "feel good" gesture for a greener fuel, but it couldn't handle all capacity, it shifts our dependence to a crop instead of a mineral, it's more expensive to produce, and overall not the answer we need for greener fuels. There are better options that should be developed.
