For the past few days, I've been having some trouble deciding what tags to put posts under. Most of the time I find myself using the more popular tags as opposed to a specific one. It's difficult to decide, seeing as hubski is not twitter, and tagging is at least in some capacity putting your post in a "group" of other similar posts. I find I'm using #technology for things that could fit better under much more specific tags, but then the tag would seem odd and out-of-place. Is it better to use the more popular tags or specific ones when posting, and why?

Fox:

I agree that it's difficult when you only get to choose one.

For now it's probably appropriate to submit to the more popular tags, so that it is seen by more people, yet I think with time and Hubski user base growth you will be able to use more specific tags, because more people will be submitting content and hopefully will be forced to spread into more specific categories.

Also If you have a bunch of people following you, it shouldn't matter what tag you choose, because you know that (in your case right now) at least 29 people should see anything you submit, no matter the tag.
